RE: 2-by-3 repeated measures ANOVA
Hi Konstantinos,

A 2 x 2 ANOVA would appear to be reasonable choice here, although I am not familiar with your experimental design.

Check out previous posts on this forum that provide details about this design.

In brief, the design matrix would have a column for the main effect of group, a column for the main effect of emotion and a column for the elementwise multiplication of the group and emotion columns (interaction effect).

Each effect could then be tested separately using a t-test. For example, the contrast for the main effect of group would be [ 1 0 0] or [-1 0 0].

Hi Dr. Zalesky,

Thank you for your answer.

Generally, what type of statistical analyses would you suggest I use if I want to test:
1. the effect of group,
2. the effect of emotion, and
3. the group-by-emotion interaction.

You can use as a reference the group statistics from this website: https://fsl.fmrib.ox.ac.uk/fsl/fslwiki/FEAT/UserGuide

Kind regards,
Konstantinos
