Seeking to understand “cost” and its effect on network properties
I don’t really understand the cost variable, and why network
properties change when it is changed.
I understand that p=0.15 is commonly used, and is a value characteristic of small-world networks and biological systems. But it seems (assuredly due to my lack of knowledge) like an arbitrary value.
“We set rewiring probability to 0.15 and these are the properties we observe.” I don’t understand.
I am using clustering coefficient as my measure of interest, if that matters to the above.
I would appreciate any pointers to explanations, articles, etc. I’ve searched the Conn docs, some articles, and this forum, but haven’t found the answer.
Thanks!
