Yes, the error may be related to not being able to find in the network the files expected in CONN's installation. Please check in Matlab command-line the following:

   filename=fullfile(fileparts(which('conn')),'utils','surf','mask.volume.brainmask.nii')

   infomask=conn_file(filename)
