RE: activation in conn.15d

Dear Alfonso,

Thanks for your instructions on how to use CONN for task-based activation analyses. I'd like to compare four different conditions (None, Standard, Deviant, Novel) and followed all the steps up until the 2nd level with no issue. However, I'm not sure if my analysis is accurate on the RESULT (2nd Level) tab.

Under "Conditions" I only have the Standard condition; and under "Seeds/Sources" I've selected the effects of all conditions (Effect of None, Effect of Standard, Effect of Deviant, Effect of Novel). If I want to compare Standard vs. Deviant, what should I choose under "Between-sources contrast"? Just "Effect of Effect of Deviant" or should I choose "custom constrast" and enter 0 1 -1 0?

Thanks in advance!!!

Luis

Dear Athena, For task-based activation analyses you would want to select only the 'rest' condition in the 'conditions' list, and select your task effects in the 'sources' list, entering your choice of contrast in the 'between-sources contrast' field (and sorry that the notation is so confusing for this sort of analysis, at some point I should definitely better integrate standard task-activation analyses into CONN). Hope this helps Alfonso
