RE: Merge single subjects into one project
Hi Matthew,

I am not exactly sure what you mean by "no files actually appear". If you have subject-specific projects (e.g. named conn_subject1.mat and conn_subject2.mat, and their associated conn_subject1 conn_subject2 folders) that you have processed separately using your cluster, you should be able to simply merge these into a new project with two subjects by going to Projects.Merge, entering 2 as the number of subjects and selecting there those two conn_subject*.mat files (select the 'create new project' option if these are the first two subjects that you add to this project, or the 'add to current project' option if instead you already have a merged project and you simply want to add a few more subjects there). If you are not seeing the conn_subject*.mat files in the file-selection GUI make sure that your filters are properly set (if in doubt simply enter "*" -without quotes- in the filter field, and "." -without quotes- in the regexp field, to skip all filtering)

Also, just as a side comment, if your cluster has a shared distributed environment and it is using GridEngine, PBS/Torque or LFS job schedulers, you might want to consider using the new parallelization options in CONN which will handle all of this individual-subject job submission and project-merging automatically for you.

Let me know if this helps
Alfonso

Hello,

I am having trouble using the merge function in the GUI. I processed each subject by themselves with a batch script so I could use the cluster computing my university has, so I have a conn_.mat file for each subject, but when I try to merge the subjects into a single project for use with second level analysis, the merge function does not work. Specifically, when it is searching for files to add in the folder explorer, no files actually appear, even with the filter turned off. Only folders appear. I am wondering if anyone else has seen this issue or anything like it. I am using CONN v15. Thanks!
