T value interpretation in 2nd level analysis
Hi Conn users,

I have finished a second level analysis of 36 subjects. I also did subjects effect using Lateralization Indexes for expressive and receptive language.  At the end, I obtained  for all subjects  the given seed/sources BA and the corresponding  target results.  I have 2 questions about the results. Any assistance to understand the conn result is highly appreciated.
1) What is the difference between subjects contrast ;  between condition contrast and between source contrast.
2) On using  the subject effect of language lateralization index in the  between-subject contrast (effect of all subjects), in ROi-to-ROI connection  analysis, for each source ROI I get a list of targets ROIs each with its respective  beta, T(degree of freedom) value, uncorrected p and p-FDR. how should interpret this T values? . The p-value tells me the statistical significance of the relationship between source and target ROIs, but I am not sure  the interpretation of the T value when the  lateralization index regressor effect is considered. In general, the t-value measures the size of the difference relative to the variation in the mean of the  populations represented in the sample data. In this case, that we have for each  source seed ROI a group  of targets (Rois) using the lateralization index as effect regressor, which could be these 2 populations? in other words how to interpret the role of the t value in the result table?

I deeply appreciate your clarification in these concepts.

Best regards

Magno
