B-Spline interpolation vs Windowed Sinc
In talking with Min and some other developers I have come across
the suggestion to use "Windowed Sinc" as the interpolation option
for modules such as registration and transformation. The argument
goes that B-splines are improperly implemented in MIPAV and
therefore should be avoided. I understand it is a matter of
contention amongst developers.
So I have to ask, is this true? Is it a known issue that will be resolved?
I ask because having to add a separate thresholding module with every instance of Windowed Sinc interpolation to remove spurious negative values is fairly tedious and makes our layouts very busy-looking, and I would really like to nail this issue down before committing to one interpolation method versus the other.
