following up on this discussion on the field map correction: 

I am using a Philips scanner and certain required values are not contained in the json file of the field measurement. That is why I need to enter the values (fieldmap's short and long echo time, Blip direction) manually in the VDM create settings. 

As I understood, the Blip direction represents the phase encoding direction of the functional measurement, which is usually denoted as A-P, P-A, L-R, R-L.

I am not clear why the suggested values by CONN are +1,-1, S, R. Could you please explain what those values stand for and if they correspond to any of the directions above?
