hi,
Please read the chapter on AuditoryfMRI in the SPM8 manual.
This would give you an idea of how to display plots, images and a3d renderings.
Section 28.3.9 Overlays, in particular would be relevant for surface renderings
based on Maximum Intensity Projections.
There are also ways to extract the surface with FSL and render in FSLView.
